29th Krk Sails 2026
13–23 August 2026 | Celebrating maritime heritage, sailing traditions, culture and music in the Town of Krk
From 13 to 23 August 2026, the Town of Krk will host the 29th Krk Sails, a unique event celebrating the 150th anniversary of Plav Sailing Club, the oldest sailing club on the Adriatic. Since its inception in 1998, Krk Sails has grown into one of the town’s flagship summer events, bringing together sailors, local residents and visitors in honour of the island’s rich maritime heritage.
The programme features the 29th Krk Sails Traditional Boat Regatta, the Veterans’ Optimist Regatta, and the Krk Sails 2026 OPEN Regatta for cruising yachts, alongside a diverse selection of exhibitions, workshops, lectures, concerts and other cultural events inspired by the sea and the Adriatic’s maritime traditions.
Organised by the Krk Town Tourist Board and Plav Sailing Club, the event is held with the support of the Town of Krk, the Kvarner Tourist Board and the Krk Shipyard. It also continues the legacy of the Arca Adriatica project, dedicated to preserving, promoting and celebrating the Adriatic’s rich maritime heritage.
Among the highlights are the spectacular Night Dance of Traditional Boats, educational programmes at the Interpretation Centre of the Maritime Heritage of the Island of Krk, and a vibrant cultural programme showcasing the customs, skills and traditions that continue to shape life in the Town of Krk today.
